You will use your previous California Regions assignment plus Google Maps and a website called Road Trip Planner to create the ultimate summer road trip with your table group which you will share as a Google Slides Presentation. Your trip must include:
- 800 - 1,500 miles road trip that visits each geographic region of California (use the locations that you researched above)
- Starting at Willow Glen High School - 2001 Cottle Ave, San Jose, CA 95125
- Choose four choice locations and four historical site to create your trip. (Each of the regions of California must be represented. So one Coast Range Location and one Coast Range historical site, then one Inland Mountains location and historical site, and so on...) You will be planning your trip using this link: Road Trip Planner
- Note: Your trip must reflect stopping every 300 miles for gas and where you had to stop should be noted on the website and the postcards
- Your table group will need to print out a copy of your road trip.
- Your group will be producing a 16 slide presentation on Google Slides by creating 8 "postcards".
- The first slide will be a picture, then second slide is the description of the place and what you could do there on your trip.
- 8 Locations, 2 slides per location - 16 slides
- The info must have:
- Description of the place geographically
- Population
- Climate when you visited
- Special locations (what is it famous for)
- Any fun info you want to add........ (Jack threw up in the car on 101, Yotam sang songs from the radio all trip, etc....)
- When you are sharing out with the class, you will simultaneously be placing a color coded piece of yarn on the wall map of California. When we are done, the whole rainbow of colors to show our travels.
